    We hosted an event on Wednesday 16 March in collaboration with North East Together and Voices for Choices. The main purpose of the event was to gather views and experiences of those who access mental health services in the locality.

    Based on patient experience received regarding access issues to dental care for people with mobility problems, we attended the NHS England Call to Action Event where one of the objectives for discussion was Access.

    We established links with two different community groups that engage with parents and carers of Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) children and young people, and invited them to attend focus groups.

    The following report has been shared at the South Tees Health and Wellbeing Executive and Live Well Board. We have produced a second version taking into account feedback from relevant members which have been highlighted in pink throughout the report.

    This report presents key findings from our mental health work with almost 500 young people.

    We were asked by the Integrated Care System to hold conversations with people across the North East and North Cumbria around the themes of health and wellbeing. We spoke to twelve women from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities.

    We were asked by an integrated care partnership to host a focus group with adults with learning disabilities in Middlesbrough. We wanted to find out the most important things that contribute to their overall wellbeing.

    In October 2020 we launched our GPs, Ongoing Treatments and Wellbeing survey.

    The Tees Valley Healthwatch Network worked together to co-design a survey with Tees, Esk and Wear Valley NHS Foundation Trust (TEWV) which enabled us to gain an insight into people’s experiences of accessing mental health and well-being services.

    At the end of 2021, Healthwatch teams across the North East worked collaboratively to gain feedback from the general public about their experiences of local dentistry.

    This report highlights all of the work we have carried out so far.

    It includes feedback from our menopause event, responses from consultation surveys and identifies improvements to support services that are required locally which would improve experiences.
