Living Well in Care Homes

This report shares the findings from our recent engagement with care home residents, staff, and families, focused on understanding what makes a care home a good place to live. Through a series of visits, we gathered valuable insights into the everyday experiences of residents and identified examples of good practice that promote not just quality care, but also quality of life.

We hope the recommendations outlined in the report will help shape the future model of care within care homes—one that supports residents to live fulfilled, dignified lives. The examples of excellence we observed show what is possible, and we believe they should be more widely adopted to ensure all residents are supported to live well.

We also hope the report will influence decision-makers to reflect on the barriers some homes face and consider how best to support improvements across the sector.
