Dentistry and Oral Health Strategy

Alongside the strategy, the ICB released a summary report based on Healthwatch’s earlier engagement work. While the report itself contains no new data, it reflects the findings previously shared in September and reinforces the importance of public voice in shaping dental services.

This work has taken time to come together, and while the final strategy does not go as far as hoped in some areas, there have been meaningful wins, thanks to the persistence and collaboration of Healthwatch teams across the region.

The ICB’s communications are now focused on promoting the strategy, and Healthwatch will be supporting this by sharing tailored messaging and materials to help raise awareness and encourage public understanding.

A full communications pack is expected shortly, and Healthwatch teams will continue to play a key role in ensuring the strategy reaches the communities it is designed to serve.

A final impact summary will be shared in early 2026, highlighting how Healthwatch’s contribution helped shape the regional approach to oral health and dental access.
