🌟 Spotlight Award: Michaela Dowdall

Since joining the team in 2021, Michaela Dowdall has made a remarkable impact across the practice. Alongside her reception and admin duties, she has taken on the roles of prescribing clerk and safeguarding admin lead, bringing energy, organisation, and innovation to each.

Improving Prescriptions & Appointments

Michaela created a new system to help the admin team manage prescription requests more efficiently and works closely with our PCN pharmacists to support safe, effective prescribing.

She also introduced direct booking links for patient appointments—an idea new to the practice—which has greatly improved convenience and patient choice. This success has since expanded to some Nurse and HCA appointments.

Strengthening Safeguarding

Working with another admin colleague, Michaela helped develop a clearer process for managing safeguarding information requests and coordinating GP attendance at MDT meetings. This has made safeguarding procedures smoother and more consistent.

A Truly Valued Team Member

Michaela’s drive, initiative, and willingness to improve systems have benefited both patients and staff. We are very fortunate to have her, and we are delighted to recognise her with this Spotlight Award.
